Auschwitz is not a tourist attraction which is located so close to Cracow that you can visit it during half a day, between the hotel breakfast and the traditional dinner in the Polish restaurant, like some other places and objects in this part of Poland. Travel to Auschwitz is not obligatory.
You don't have to go there if you don't feel like doing it and you are not prepared to see what is there to see. We can assure you that it is not a place for tourists, more it is a place for people who are ready to see what could and still can be done by one person to another, who are ready to realize that all these atrocities committed in Auschwitz are only a very small part of an evil which is seen every single day in the world...
However, if you decide to visit this biggest extermination camp created by Nazis in Europe, we will go there with you and we will try to tell you the story of this place and share your feelings about it. But be prepared to experience something both deep and painful.
Don't go there having as your only motivation the fact that somebody convinced you that it is a place to be. Go there only if you feel your own inner need...
